  • Do you think that any congress person that votes to repeal health care should not except their health care?

They have government run health care and now they don't want you to have any chance of getting any at all. They don't even have to pay part of the premiums like we do, and they don't have deductibles either. So what do you think, should they turn down their health insurance packages, till all Americans have the same health insurance they have?

my father is a psychopath who abused me terribly, he beat me and caused me health problems. i got into a life threatening accident and almost died so i went home to recover, meanwhile when i was recovering and seeing doctors i found out i have life threatening heart problems. because i got many tests and it was picked up. i can barely walk and suffer excruciating pains daily, 24 hours a day. i cannot work. but i used to attend college my father beat me 4 months after the accident , making the injuries worse and the stupid cops in my area wouldnt believe me even when i showed them bruises my father went to court against me to gain legal control over me, since i could not walk. he told the courts im mentally retarded and severely mentally ill. so they gave him legal control over me with no proof. obviousely there is none, since i dont qualify for it i didnt have a lawyer and was stuck in bed clinging onto life now he makes medical decisions for me and took my money but he dosnt even know what medical problems i have. and he dosnt care, he lies and does not talk to me. he still threatens me and curses at me daily and tries to control me im a 25 yr old female and trying to care for my health and see doctors. i have nothing to do with my father, he dosnt help me with anything or talk to me. he just screams and curses and tries to stop me from helping myself he tells me to die and makes fun of me he says no ones going to believe me, he has threatened to kill me he says if i leave his home and dont come back for a day or two he will have the cops get me and lock me in an institution at his request anyways i think he knows the judge from the court, so he did my father a favor, its very clear that im not mentally retarded and any mental health expert i saw said im not mentally ill so he has no right to do this, i need my money and need to leave without being threatened with being put away what do i do i have no money for a lawyer since he took my money

  • Should Left Turns Be Against The Law?

In our nearly 25 years behind the wheel we have had exactly two accidents and gotten two subsequent tickets, both of them left-turn related. Which is why we were elated to read a recent story on Smithsonian.com making the case for doing away with those loathsome left turns. The writer had also had some bad left-turn experiences and she cheered a recent study from North Carolina State University which found that “superstreets” – surface streets where the left-hand turns from side streets are re-routed so that drivers have to make a right turn then a u-turn around a broad median – are more efficient than traditional intersections. While the process seems more time-consuming, studies have found that superstreets actually save times and lives. “The study shows a 20 percent overall reduction in travel time compared to similar intersections that use conventional traffic designs,” said one of the researchers who conducted the study, NCSU engineering professor Joe Hummer. “We also found that superstreet intersections experience an average of 46 percent fewer reported automobile collisions—and 63 percent fewer collisions that result in personal injury.” Superstreets haven’t really caught on yet, but if you ask me it’s the way to go. Are you ready to give up your left turns? So do you think left turns should be against the law? Why or Why not?

  • How many states in the US support the parental immunity doctrine?

The question regards child abuse in law. The parental immunity doctrine gives immunity to parents from prosecution from their children in regards to emotional child abuse. The doctrine has been in place from the 19th century but recently several states have abrogated the doctrine. I would like to know how many states in the US support this doctrine today.

  • Law Firm, Law Firms that represent injury accident victims. What injury law firm do you recommend in the US?

Does anyone have a personal injury law firm, that they recommend, that represents victims of personal injury in the United States?

  • Who is responsible, financially, for this accident?

I was in a car accident this weekend involving three cars. My car was not at fault as we were stopped at a red light that had just turned green when a minivan plowed into a car behind us which plowed into us. The minivan driver gave us insurance information for his mother which turns out to be an issue (can't tell if it's active or something), and my insurance company is saying that we will owe the deductible because of that. In Maryland, however, isn't each driver responsible for their vehicle at all times? So, in effect, isn't the woman who hit us just as responsible for damage and injury as the man who hit her??? I'm about to go see my doctor because of my pain from this, and I suspect a whiplash. I don't have intention to sue, I'm not that person, but I don't see why I should have to pay a deductible as we are the victims. I have no problem paying the doctor's bills, rx bills if necessary, pt bills, and getting reimbursed for that and time missed from work, but I definitely have a problem paying a deductible. I want to know, according to Maryland law, who are the responsible parties. Is the woman who hit us responsible for our damage? Couldn't her insurance go after the other guy for both? Why do we have to even worry about this??

  • I rear ended someone... {fairly long, need help}?

{Background info} I rear ended someone last week. I live in Colorado, and I'm not quite clear on traffic laws and all that. I'm sixteen and I've not had my license for too long. School had just gotten out and basically the traffic was TERRIBLE. My highschool is located by two other schools, which makes three schools clustered around getting out of school at the same time. So I'm driving down a road on my way to the hospital, and someone pulls off the road into a turning lane and the guy infront of me stopped for some reason. I slam on the brakes, not fast enough and I hit his car at around 10-15 mph {we weren't moving fast even before then, the traffic was bad}. The guys steps out of his car and curses me out, yadda yadda we call the cops My car is very low to the ground {scion xA} so my hood and grill for messed up, and his car is a Cadillac and it got hit by the grill of my car, giving him a few scratches, literally, I don't even have plates yet, just a plastic grill. The guy yelled about how he just got out of surgery on his neck of some sort, he wouldn't specify and he was moving his neck a lot as if to make any possible injury happen, the officers were even telling him to stop moving his neck. He left on a stretcher to the hospital, and and hour later I got to go home. My question is will I get charged extra for medical expenses if the condition was pre-existing? I know I should plead guilty, but I've never done this or witnessed this before and I'm a mess.

  • Proportional Comparative Fault at 51%?

Had a question about Wisconsin injury settlement law. From googling I found this: Proportional Comparative Fault at 51% The states that have adopted proportional comparative fault bar recovery if you are more than 51% at fault for the accident. In other words, you cannot file a liability claim and lawsuit against the other driver’s negligence if you were more than 51% at fault. For example, Dennis hit Teri’s car while driving in excess of 25 miles per hour over the speed limit while Teri was attempting to cross the road. Even though Teri was partially at fault for not waiting until the road was completely clear before crossing, the insurance company allocated fault to Dennis at 60% due to his excessive speed. Even though Dennis suffered a broken arm from the accident, he is not entitled to recover for his injury due to the fact that he was more than 51% at fault for the accident. States: Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming. My question was, if let's say I'm found at 60% fault, do I have to pay all of the damages or are the damages going to be reduced by the other drivers fault (that is 40%)?

  • Insurance policy limit in a personal injury settlement?

I was wondering in a personal injury settlement if the "other" driver (who's was at fault for the accident) has a limit on his policy that is UNBELIEVABLY low. Is that all that i can realistically get? Just to give some background info, my lost wages are 1,000 dollars more than his insurence policy limit. Thats not including pain and suffering and medical bills. Im trying to find out every bit of info that i can because i am doing this with out a lawyer, due to the fact that i fired mine 3 days ago. All info that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much Nick
