QI hit a parked car facing wrong direction on highway, am I at fault?

The car was involved in a single vehicle accident. He crossed the median and his car eventually stopped in the opposite highways fast lane. The vehicle was half in the median and half of it jutting out into the fast lane. The vehicle had no hazard lights on and his front end was completely smashed from his own accident which didn't leave any reflective surfaces in my headlights, just dull black steel. His insurance company is trying to claim I am at fault because technically I hit a parked vehicle. I managed to avoid it for the most part, but was left with damage to the side of my vehicle and 2 popped tires and busted rims. I couldn't swerve out of the lane completely because I would have hit another vehicle.
