  • 2Help with Bike/Car Accident Insurance Claim?

The accident : 14 months ago , when I was riding my bike , a conductor connected to the right just in front of me and my bike / body slammed into the back of your car . I can provide more details if necessary . The consequences : Bike damage repairs = $ 200. My back was in pain for a couple of weeks . Nothing debilitating , but noticeable . A few months later , re-injured my back playing golf ( not usually play ) , which makes me wonder if I will continue to suffer from back problems minor or major , as a result of this accident . The verdict : I was shocked when Progressive decided it was shared by negligence . The driver lied about how this happened. And my testimony fell off the face of the earth ... But why do I have ridden in a car ? My question is : On principle , I do not settle the claim at first. Now , there's a new adjuster wants to settle the case . He is willing to take care of my expenses bike and my medical expenses . It also appears that I feel out of the kind of cash settlement, one that I want. I just wanted to wait to see if my back got worse . But , since you probably can not find my control again ... and the statute of limitations ends in 9 months ... ... I guess it must conform. Can anyone suggest if I have any alternative to the resolution now? If not , any suggestions on what to order ?

  • 7Car Crash and Insurance Company. What to do?

I was in a pretty bad car accident in which my car was violently rear-ended , and police found the other party 's fault. The car is pretty damn bad , but technically reparable . There were some injuries to the people in my vehicle. The car is worth about $ 15,000 according to Kelley Blue Book ( Toyota Yaris , almost a year with about 11,000 miles). The site chosen by the insurance company of the other party gave the estimate to fix the car to be between $ 10,000 and $ 11,000. Because that's more than half the value of the car , that insurance company will declare it totaled , and ( although it reparable ) we want to pay the value of the car instead of paying to repair it , probably because if you don ' t fix it , offered for auction for parts ( almost all of which are fine, only the frame , doors and seats were shabby looking ) and keep the money . They are also trying to tell us that the car is worth about $ 2,000 less than it really is .

  • 11Were my insurance company right in not paying out my claim on a car-crash?

Long story cut as short as possible: in early 2010 I was involved in a very serious car accident (ie , fully expected to die ) , caused by poorly maintained roads and black ice . I have severe brain damage , so I remember very little of the past 24 years of my life . The thing is, my car - insurance company refused to pay . The thing is, the car ( and in fact the insurance ) were in the name of my mother, who forgot to get everything changed again. My mother was the main driver on the insurance, but I was a secondary driver. The insurance company refused to pay , saying that our claim was fraudulent . Since then I have heard , however , that the company should have - by law - paid something at least . I'm not entirely sure what to make of all this . (Especially considering that actually remember very little of my past , nothing to drive, and therefore I have nothing to compare it really . ) So I was eager to see what the guys out there tell this. I am aware that the company probably right to refuse to pay , and I should have been more "on top of " our politics - I know that - but the thing is that I was still a named driver when the car is crashed . So what do ya'll think?

  • 12Minor car crash, how to avoid a cliam going through insurance?

Hi, So i was involved in a small bump the other day.. basically i was just starting to reverse out of a parking space on a private carpark and a car was approaching behind me, i didnt see the car and and hit the side of their car. It was actually my fault and i admitted that and apologised. There was minor damage to both mine and his vehicle, no dints, just a few scuffs and scracthes. He took my phone number and regestration plate and said he would ring me the following day to sort out the cost to repair his (slightly scrachted) car. I asked several times for him to NOT GO THROUGH INSURANCE as its my first year driving and the cost of my insurance is already unbelievbly high. He agreed to not get the damage paid for through my insurance and our plan was for him to take it to a garage to get fixed and i just pay the cost... simple! Well, now he's completly done a u-turn on me and had an accident insurance company contact me to try and get all my details. I think hes also trying to claim for whiplash, along with the four other guys in the car. I didnt give my details out to the insurance company, i basically just explained what happened and that it was my fault. Then when they asked for my address etc i said id like to speak to the guy involved as we'd agreed on dealing with it privatley. The guy involved is ignoring my calls and texts... Is there ANY way i can avoid having this go through insurance? or even avoid them claiming whiplash atleast? Ive tried to get cctv footage of the incident to show that there is no way the speed of the collison could cause whiplash whatsoever (literally 2mph). Also, the car park is privatley owned by a hotel so am i right in saying by law the insurance companies can not get involved? Should i contact my insurance company and ask for their advise or not? Thanks in advance (sorry its so lengthy, just wanted to explain the full circumstances)
